Constitución de los números reales: el aporte de Dedekind, 1872
Main Article Content
The treatment of the mathematical objects that we do today with so much naturalness, invisibility, in many occasions, those moments of inspiration of the human mind in which they were born and those moments of epistemological effervescence that they constituted. Such is the case of the concept of a set of real numbers as a continuous mathematical object. Their treatment in school goes so unnoticed that the university diagnostic tests reveal a lack of knowledge of the properties of order, density and continuity of the set.
The present document aims to show a brief historical sketch of the constitution of real numbers, especially highlighting the contributions of Richard Dedekind, who was able to inspire geometry to achieve this constitution. This work is part of the historical and epistemological analyzes that emerge from the doctoral research project titled "A didactic strategy, mediated by ICT, to strengthen the teaching and learning process of the functions of real variable and its representation systems".
